Pennington...displays his monster acoustic and electric guitar chops on Travis standards like "Nine Pound Hammer," his own finger-busting instrumentals like "Stealing Time," and popular tunes like "Sweet Georgia Brown." All the hallmarks of the style are present: walking bass lines; unusual, ear-tickling six-string chords; and prodigious chord-melody playing. Pennington's vocals are pleasing, especially on humorous tunes like the gardening-and-murder ballad "Fertile Liza," but his dexterous digits are clearly the stars of this show.--Ian Zack
